The portfolio supports mixed 10 GbE, 25 GbE, 40 GbE, 100 GbE, 400 GbE and 800 GbE Ethernet services, along with matching Fibre Channel rates, depending on platform configuration. Each one-rack-unit chassis can aggregate multiple client services into high-capacity 100 G, 200 G, 400 G or 800 G uplinks using OTU2 or OTU4 framing.
This flexible approach reduces wavelength shortages, improves fibre utilisation and simplifies service consolidation across metro, regional, long-haul and data centre interconnect networks. Standards-based pluggable optics, modular licensing and optional Layer 1 encryption allow operators to expand capacity gradually while maintaining compatibility with existing DWDM infrastructure.
The PL-8000M supports 100 GbE, 400 GbE and 800 GbE services over two 800 G wavelengths, delivering up to 1.6 T in one system. It can be configured with mux / demux, EDFA and optical switch functions, depending on the deployment, and provides full demarcation between the service and DWDM network. Flexible client options per slice include 8 × 100 GbE, 2 × 400 GbE or 1 × 800 GbE, with Layer 1 AES-256 encryption, performance monitoring, remote management and hot-swappable field-replaceable parts.
Can be set as four 100 GbE muxponders or four 400 GbE transponders. With the optional in-chassis mux / demux, EDFA and optical switch the unit lights four 400 G wavelengths and, with the chosen FEC, reaches up to about 4 000 km.
